“The 40 Feet Trilogy” portrays river Avon in South West England, where it carves its way through the city of Bristol. Spanning 40 feet, the tidal difference of the Bristol channel is one of the highest in the world. The film tries to write a potential biography of this naturally elusive place, narrating fragments of its actual or potential history, from its formation through Iceage glaciers to the mythical transportation of stonehenge’s monoliths; from the discovery of the Americas and the transatlantic slave trade to a large number of suicides from the bridge in recent days.
